E2: WEEK TWO REFLECTIONS

Welcome to Week 2 of Do Something, Kingsbridge! By now, you should have narrowed the 3 issues you surveyed down to one to focus on for your project. Next, you will decide on a specific service project to complete that addresses your chosen issue. This week you should reflect on the following questions for your blog posts:
  • What issue are you going to focus on for this project? Why did you choose this issue? Reflect on why you are needed to help with your chosen issue.
  • This week you heard a speech given by President Barrack Obama calling for Americans to serve their communities and country. He spoke of the value of service to help other people and also to develop ourselves into active citizens. How do you think the project you chose will benefit both other people and yourself?

E1: WEEK ONE REFLECTIONS

Welcome to the first week of Do Something Kingsbridge! This week, you are going to begin to identify and survey three current sociopolitical issues and, with the help of dosomething.org, brainstorm a possible service-learning project to bring about change for your selected issue. This week you must write 2 blog posts reflecting on your experience using the following questions as guidance:
  1. What are the three issues you have decided to survey? Explain why you chose these particular issues.
  2. How are you feeling about the idea of completing a service-learning project? (excited, overwhelmed, indifferent) Explain why you are feeling this way and whether or not you think your feelings might change by the end of the project.
